SubAir® Systems designs and manufactures subsurface airflow systems for sportsfields and golf
course applications. SubAir® is a tool and process method that helps to create and maintain the optimum
subsurface growing environment for grass. It does this by moving air through the soil, thereby controlling
soil gas concentrations, soil moisture and temperature within the root zone. Grass roots respond to
optimum root zone conditions by growing a deep, dense root mass.
The SubAir® patented two-way airflow system offers the benefits of both pressure and vacuum modes.
The vacuum mode creates a downward movement of air through the soil and aggregate profile.
Conversely, pressure mode creates movement of air upwards through the profile.
In the vacuum mode, it enables rapid water evacuation from the surface, thereby draining any standing
water and thus restoring the surface to an optimal playing condition.
SubAir has been installed in over 250 sports facilities including premier stadiums and some of the best golf
courses in the world.
| The main objectives of the SubAir System are: |
| 1) |
Air / gas exchange in the soil without disturbing surface |
| 2) |
Rapid moisture removal from the surface in a vacuum mode |
